We are URBAN WOODS and our workshop is located in the heart of Transylvania, Romania. We produce dining and coffee tables made of hardwood.
Our products are made exclusively out of salvaged wood. We decided to salvage old trees that come bundled with many defects which would normally be rejected by other manufacturers of solid wood furniture. In order to preserve the natural beauty of the wood we chose to emphasize these defects and even amplify them in our products. Therefore nodes or simple imperfections of the wood filled with transparent epoxy resin are an ubiquitous element in the products we create.
The production process is a long and difficult one. Once the trees are salvaged and brought into the workshop, the wood is cut and allowed to dry for up to three years before being processed and turned into dining or coffee tables.
We handle each process from standing trees to the finished product being delivered to your home.

Suntem URBAN WOODS, producatori de mese de dining si mese de cafea din lemn masiv. Atelierul nostru este situat in inima Transilvaniei, in judetul Alba.
Special la lemnul pe care il folosim este faptul ca provine exclusiv din zone urbane sau rurale, si nu din padurile romanesti. Am ales sa "salvam" copaci de dimensiuni impresionante de pe strazi, din parcuri sau din gospodarii care din cauza varstei inaintate sau a sanatatii precare reprezinta un pericol pentru trecatori. Acesti copaci ascund sub scoarta lor esente spectaculoase prin care isi spun povestea zecilor de ani petrecuti in echilibru cu omul. Defecte, noduri sau adevarate "cicatrici" ale lemnului ce ar fi imposibil de prelucrat de catre majoritatea producatorilor de mobilier sau obiecte din lemn masiv sunt pastrate si chiar evidentiate in produsele noastre.
Produsele URBAN WOODS doresc sa spuna aceasta poveste a lemnului si sa o incadreze din nou in peisajul urban cu ajutorul elementelor de design contemporan sau industrial.
Procesul de producție este un proces lung si anevoios dar pe care il supraveghem atent la fiecare pas. Odata salvat si ajuns in atelier, lemnul este debitat si pus la uscat timp de 3 ani inainte de a fi prelucrat si transformat în mese de dining sau mese de cafea.
Ne ocupam de fiecare etapa prin care trece lemnul de la debitare, uscare, proiectare, prelucrare si pana cand mesele ajung in locuintele dumneavoastra.
